Recipient Org: Description Renewed Hope Trust (RHT) helps the homeless and disadvantaged in East Surrey. This includes practical support such as healthcare, assistance with finding employment and training, and listening and caring. RHT works in professional partnership with relevant voluntary and statutory agencies, and runs both a Drop-In and the East Surrey Winter Night Shelter (ESWNS). The Drop-In service (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) runs from two community centres in central Redhill. The Drop-In assists in finding short term accommodation for the homeless and provides an advocacy service for clients in their dealings with Housing Associations, Job Centre Plus, Department for Work and Pensions, Councils, Probation, and East Surrey Police. ESWNS moves between different venues, manned by volunteers. It is financially supported by Churches, Borough Councils (Reigate and Banstead, and Tandridge), and individuals. The 2015/2016 ESWNS provided accommodation and hospitality for up to 15 local homeless people for 12 weeks from mid-December 2015. RHT keeps detailed records of the metrics of guests and clients. During November RHT trained 34 Supervisors and Venue Coordinators and 256 General Volunteers. Some of the volunteers have been guests at the Winter Night Shelter in previous years. RHT was established in September 2011 and is a newly registered CIO. It has 1 part-time worker, a management committee of 8 people and 721 volunteers.
