Recipient Org: Description The Lighthouse Centre is a charitable project managed by Woking Vineyard Christian Fellowship (WVCF). WVCF also operates under the name The Lighthouse and is a charity and company limited by guarantee. WVCF was established in 1997 and The Lighthouse project was started in 2011. The Lighthouse has progressed from a derelict building to a vibrant hub to serve those who need fresh hope and practical support. Services include the Foodbank, addiction recovery support (The Bridge project), provision of clothing and toys and equipment (The Jigsaw Project), healthy-cooking classes, Bread-making classes– providing skills and a support network for vulnerable women, confidence coaching, Free community lunches on Thursdays, Saturday breakfasts for the homeless, job interview preparation, youth mentoring, social enterprise opportunities, drama and music workshops, and much more. The Jigsaw project has operated since 2006. It became too big to manage and hence The Lighthouse Centre was established, which now provides a multitude of services. The Lighthouse Centre has a Management Committee of 3 people including the pastor of the Woking Vineyard Church and his wife, 5 additional part-time workers, and 40 volunteers. However, the WVCF as a charity has three unrelated Trustees.
