Recipient Org: Description Connect is an independent registered charity with a Christian ethos, providing professional counselling and family therapy to adults living throughout Surrey Heath and within a 30 mile radius of the charity's premises in Camberley, including Frimley, Woking, Guildford and Farnham. Connect aims to provide a general counselling service that is accessible to the whole community, in particular those struggling to cope, aiming to give clients hope and a chance to improve their situation. No one is turned away through lack of funds and the service is offered to all without discrimination. The charity deals with a range of issues such as redundancy and financial concerns which affect the mental wellbeing and life of individuals. Clients come with a variety of concerns ranging from stress, anxiety, bereavement, depression and other mental health problems, relationship difficulties, abuse and trauma. Connect was established in April 1994 by a group of local Churches, initially as Connect Christian Counselling Service. In 2014 the name changed to Connect Counselling Service which is registered with the charity commission. Connect is run by 3 part-time staff and 38 volunteers. Connect has 4 Trustees and an advisory panel appointed by the Trustees. The Connect premises are in a central location and are offered to other groups providing services to the community, including Camberley Street Angels, and Amari pregnancy choices.
