Recipient Org: Description Founded in 2008, Farnham Local Food (FLF) is a community-run local agriculture project with land at Runfold and Dippenhall. The aim of the project is to provide fresh, locally grown vegetables for local people. FLF started trading as a co-operative in 2013. The site is now open for members to volunteer on Tuesdays and Thursdays and for other social and training events. Members also support the weekly harvest on a Saturday morning and undertake a range of gardening and site maintenance tasks. FLF organises community events which involve members and local residents, such as annual Fete/plant sale, ad hoc skill workshops, the monthly pizza/food hub events where FLF partners with other local food producers, and supports other local voluntary community organisations such as Repair Café, and Eco Cinema. In addition, FLF actively promotes outreach to community organisations such as the scouts, Employability, Change of Scene, Abbey Schools, and to students. FLF will shortly be moving the Runfold site to West Farm. FLF employs two part time growers and is dependent on volunteer labour to both grow and harvest the vegetables provided to members in their weekly shares. FLF has circa 60-70 active members which includes local families with young children, members with learning difficulties and mental health issues, and members who have retired and are seeking volunteering opportunities. There are 12 volunteers and 6 Management Committee members.
