Recipient Org: Description The Nonsuch Voles (NV) group are volunteers who meet 3 days a week at Nonsuch Park, Ewell, Surrey to carry out practical gardening, woodland and other conservation work in the Park. The Group's aim is to maintain and improve the formal garden and woodland at Nonsuch Park by working in partnership with Epsom and Ewell Council Staff and the other Nonsuch Park voluntary organisations. The aim is to help the Nonsuch Park staff maintain and improve the Park. The Park is open to the public and very popular with visitors for recreation. NV was informally established 5 years ago, formed a constituted Committee in September 2012, and now has up to 20 active volunteers at any one time, ranging in age from early 20's to over 70's. The group has a Management Committee of 4 people. There are no paid staff and all members are volunteers. Any funds raised are used to pay for the group's running costs, the purchase of specific items for the group, or for items of benefit to the park, such as plants. Last year the group gave over 3,500 hours of volunteer time to the work in the Park. To raise funds, NV has a group which meets on Mondays who make craft items of wood to sell at local events and craft fairs.
