Recipient Org: Description | Surrey Clubs for Young People (SCYP) is an unincorporated charityoriginally founded in 1947 as the Surrey Association of Boys Clubs, and has now been a key player in the voluntary youth work sector within Surrey for nearly 70 years. SCYP delivers a range of opportunities for young people through a membership of around 100 youth clubs throughout Surrey and the London Boroughs of Kingston, Merton, Sutton and Croydon._x000D_ The prime purpose of SCYP is to support and develop the provision of local youth clubs its central role is to help volunteers in the operation and management of volunteer led youth clubs. Specifically, by offering a range of administrative services such as governance advice as well as access to a range of activities, including inter-club competition and holding a store of equipment for loaning out._x000D_ At present, 650 volunteers are engaged with the charity which is governed by 4 trustees, who are supported by 1 full-time and 7 part-time members of staff. |
