Recipient Org: Description Autus is the working name for the hao2.eu Foundation which is a Charitable Incorportated Organisation. Autus is based in Surbiton in London but operates across the UK, and has been involved in partnership research projects outside the UK. It is a small charity set up in 2013 by social firm Hao2.eu Ltd, which promotes the use of the latest creative and digital technologies for inclusive innovation. Although supported by the limited company with referrals e.g. from professional IT companies and initially with financial support, Autus is entirely separate. Autus is a disabled people's user-led organisation which exists to facilitate personal and professional growth for people with autism and complex needs, increasing opportunities for exciting and sustainable work to improve lives and prospects. The charity offers a range of learning activities to help young people with autism and complex needs acquire the employment skills and independent living skills. These include accredited and non-accredited courses, peer support job clubs, mentoring, and coaching. To help service users build confidence, Autus uses an award-winning online learning platform designed by people with autism for people with autism. The online environment mimics the spaces where many people with autism choose to interact, helps participants learn transferable IT skills, and is particularly beneficial for people with social anxiety or communication difficulties. Autus employs 5 part-time staff, and 24 volunteers, and is overseen by a 7 Trustees.
