Supporting older LGBT people to define their housing & care support needs (360G-CR-950838)
Many older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people have experienced discrimination in housing, care homes and from care services because of their sexuality. As a result, some would prefer to live in accommodation and receive care services that are sensitive and respectful of their sexuality and cultural identity. Tonic wishes to carry out wide-ranging consultation with the LGBT community. This will provide “evidence” of need and will help shape and influence new approaches to providing affordable housing and care services that meet their specific needs. The grant will pay for the fees of a project manager and consultation costs.
