Recipient Org: Description Our Aims • To provide one-on-one tailored support specifically designed to help individual care receivers develop skills for living independently, increase involvement in the community, break their social isolation by encouraging them to engage in social activities and learn other important life skills. • To provide a listening ear to service users and carers after which we are able signpost to information about services and support, which could be of benefit thereby providing emotional and practical support. • To alleviate demands placed on carers by providing respite on a regular basis allowing them time to pursue their own interests and activities or simply having time to relax. • To engage with carers and care receivers identifying ways in which we can support them to cope with their diverse needs. • Provide support to service users who do not have a carer. • To provide support for geographically isolated service users with a mental health diagnosis. The Essex Respite and Care Association (ERCA) works with mental health service users, with critical or substantial need, and their carers in Essex. Our aim is to provide one-on-one tailored support specifically designed to help individual care receivers develop skills for living independently, increase involvement in the community, break their social isolation by encouraging them to engage in social activities and learn other important life skills.
