Recipient Org: Description Footprints community groups operates in the Rochford Parish area within Rochford District . Rochford Parish encompasses the wards of St Andrews and Roche are recognised as areas of deprivation and amongst the 20%most deprived neighbourhoods in the country. (Reference to the Indices of Multiple Deprivation 2015) Footprints Community Projects overall aim is to connect, strengthen and empower the disadvantaged community of the St.Marks area (and neighbourhood) to make positive changes in their lives through community activities. This includes providing activities for young people as a diversion away from getting involved in anti-social behaviour and crime. Unfortunately, local crime statistics show Rochford parish to be the highest crime area in the district. Simple crime prevention could reduce theft/burglary. More young people engaging in the current youth clubs/activities could help reduce the ant-social behaviour levels currently being experienced: http://www.ukcrimestats.com/Neighbourhood/Essex_Police/Rochford Some of the young people who attend our events are often excluded from school, excluded from other clubs and activities and often known to the Youth Offending service. Here at Footprints they are still welcome, with the aim to work with them to help them to make positive changes in their lives
