Recipient Org: Description The overall aim of Signpost is the relief of the unemployed in deprived areas of Essex. At our centres in Colchester, Basildon, Grays and Tendring, our core principle is to use Empowerment as a Mechanism of Change; we want our clients to feel stronger, more confident and to build better skills to overcome whatever barriers they may be facing. Our focus is always on our clients and what they need to make fulfilling and long lasting changes in their lives. The staff and volunteers at our centres are experts at helping people produce professional CV’s and assisting them with their search for employment in a warm and welcoming environment. Alongside this, they also run accredited courses so our clients can achieve qualifications in areas such as First Aid, Customer Service and Health and Safety. We also run initiatives to aid clients who are unemployed and struggling with anxiety and depression and we have worked with the Big Energy Saving Network to help advise and support vulnerable people with their energy bills. Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to empowering our clients by restoring their self esteem and confidence so that everybody can overcome the challenges they face and achieve their goals.
