Recipient Org: Description Our aim is to promote any charitable purposes for the benefit of the community in the Tendring District and its environs, in particular the advancement of education, the protection of health and the relief of poverty, distress and sickness. The charity has five core functions which are: To Support and Promote the voluntary and community sector; To work at a strategic level with our statutory partners; To encourage liaison and networking across the sector; To enable effective and accountable representation of the sector; and to enable the sector to identify and appropriately meet unmet needs and gaps in service provision. Our mission is ‘to develop and support voluntary action and to empower local people’ which we do in a number of ways. CVST provides a range of services and activities including: Healthier Independent Longer Lives (HILL) – a lottery funded community development project that works with local residents to reduce loneliness, increase skills and improve health and wellbeing; Volunteering - as the local Volunteer Centre and with 163 volunteers of our own, volunteering plays a huge part in what we do. Various networking opportunities and information sharing Fundraising events and funding advice Training - including a range of courses for individuals, volunteers and groups Accommodation for the voluntary and community sector Winter resilience project and resources Lunch Club
