Recipient Org: Description Our charity objectives are to provide a centre for the benefit of the community within the parish of Weoley Castle and its surrounding neighbourhoods and to advance education, relieve poverty and disadvantage and to provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for the recreation and other leisure time occupation. Our diverse activities respond directly to the needs and requests of our community and include: -After School Social Club- held term-time for 5 days a week through to 6 pm -Walking Bus Service -Summer Play Scheme -Befriending - engaging people 50+ to protect their independence -Older People activities -Men in Sheds -Youth Group - in response to young people's requests -Fitness including 'Gentle Exercise' for older people and the less mobile -Themed projects to support individual groups promoting social inclusion particularly amongst hard to reach groups -Place of Welcome which includes end of session shared meal -Community Celebrations and events. Our activities are constantly under review and, based on the feedback from the community, are fluid to respond to local people's expressed interests and needs.
