Recipient Org: Description | Thrive's vision is to see disadvantaged communities changed for good through the service of young people. In 2018, we want to engage 250 young people in three estates, working towards two primary outcomes. We want to see: 1. Young people to increase their personal resilience, which will improve their future life opportunities. This will happen through: a. Providing young people with an adult they can trust e.g. through our mentoring programme; b. Helping them to map out a sense of their future; c. Developing in them the life skills that they need to get there. 2. Young people to grow leadership character and skill to lead for the good of their community. This will happen through: a. Identifying young leaders in these communities; b. Developing in them responsibility, collaboration, communication and integrity e.g. through our Young Leaders programme; c. Giving them opportunities to serve their community. Thrive carries out the following activities to see these outcomes achieved in young people: • One-to-one and group mentoring • Young Leaders programmes • Activity clubs • Holiday diversionary activities • Street-based youth work • Young Achievers Dinners |
