Recipient Org: Description | Bristol Children's Help Society enables children in Bristol, N Somerset and S Gloucestershire who are deprived emotionally and/or ecconomically to experience rural life for a week. We work with schools, youth clubs and other groups to bring the most needy children to our children's centre on the edge of the Mendips where they have fun and play while learning. Among warm and caring people they enjoy an adventure playground, outdoor heated swimming pool, sports and games hall plus many surrounding sites. The centre has the capacity to open 50 weeks of the year. Each year 1500 children use centre, 240 are the most needy and they receive free places. This is the only centre of its kind close to Bristol. |
