Recipient Org: Description Womankind aims to help women improve their mental health and well-being so they can lead more fulfilling lives. In order to meet the charities aims and objectives we provide a range of high quality and responsive services which are reflective of relevant quality standards and address the issues related to women's mental health. We also enter into partnerships and working arrangements with other organisations to maximise the support available for women. Womankind uses its resources to support the most vulnerable groups in the community. Last year, our services directly supported 519 individuals including women, children and families through our 1:1 counselling, therapy and befriending services and our helpline handled 4,976 calls. Current services and activities include; A helpline which offers support and information to women in distress, including survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Befriending to help isolated women build their social support networks. Counselling for refugees, asylum seekers and trafficked women who've experience exile, torture and violence. General counselling for women including a dedicated service for Deaf women. High intensity therapy for women with complex mental health issues. Outreach services for women with mental health problems, including victims of rape/sexual violence and therapy groups. Training and supervision for professionals.
