Recipient Org: Description See It From Her focuses on giving a platform to women and girls particularly in underprivileged, isolated or marginalised communities to have a voice through Photography. Through creating safe, supportive and compassionate spaces and using photography as tool for self-expression, SIFH aims to empower women and girls to speak out about their experiences and feel able to share their stories. We want to see real women representing themselves over different media platforms and show more accurate representations of their own experiences, culture, identity and stories. Our Activities: - Workshops for women and girls to explore their identities and share their stories through photography. We aim to reach women from specific groups, such as victims of trafficking and modern day slavery, the Roma community, survivors of sexual violence, refugees and people with mental health issues. - The Bourke-White 1-1 Mentoring Programme, that is starting in September 2016. The mentoring programme will be focused on providing women with a mentor that can guide and inspire them to create their own work about what matters most to them. - Social events and activities to raise awareness of gender inequality and encourage women to share experiences and resources
