Recipient Org: Description Home-Start North Somerset's project Supporting Families in Difficulty is designed to provide a unique early intervention home visiting service delivered by volunteers. They offer friendship and support to families who have at least one child under 5 and are struggling with demands of family life but do not reach the threshold of statutory support. Home-start volunteers are trained in a 10 week 40 hour course with ongoing training on specific issues at regular intervals during the year. Volunteers are carefully matched to families by staff so ensuring both families and volunteers have the best outcomes.
