| Recipient Org: Description | We are a local charity that empowers over 4,500 people every year in Northwest Glasgow by ensuring their human rights and needs are met through our vital advice service. Our trained advisers and volunteers offer support ranging from ensuring people have access to benefits and immigration advice, to preventing homelessness, child poverty and reversing unfair dismissals at work. In 2019/20; • We worked with 4,560 clients, 2,130 were people living below the Scottish Poverty Line. • 48% of clients identified as having a disability, ill health, or mental health condition. • We helped 630 families living in poverty. • 28% of clients were from a BAME background. Our in-depth understanding of the systems and barriers facing isolated groups enable us to ensure no one is left behind. Our total client financial gains in 2019/20 were £6.7m and for each £1 spent on GNWCAB, we generate £9 in our local communities. |
