Building Employment Pathways. Creating Digital Highways in Rural Byways in D&G (360G-SCVO-a11b000000NBghfAAD)
This project will provide 12 laptops for use by the public in community venues in 4 remote outlying communities where there is not currently combination of equipment and access readily available at present. Additionally, 6 supported training and information sessions will take place at each venue around themes of: - Making Your Universal Credit Claim Online - Managing and Maintaining Your Universal Credit Journal & Claim Online - Effective Online Job Search - CV's - What They Are, Why You Need One and What Makes a Good CV - Creating and Updating Your CV - Saving Money Online These sessions will be targeted at existing benefit claimants in outlying rural villages (both Loreburn customers and wider general public resident in those communities). Priority will be given to those individuals on benefits involving actively seeking employment such as those on qualifying benefits scheduled to transfer / in process of transferring over to / recently transferred to Universal Credit. The laptops will be left for use for a block of time at each venue - one per district in rural villages of Wigtownshire, Stewartry, Nithsdale and Annandale and Eskdale.
