Recipient Org: Description Revitalise provide essential respite breaks with nurse-led support in a holiday style for disabled people and carers, by providing an environment where people, staff, volunteers and guests are free to richly associate with each other and in doing so, we create a kind of magic. Underpinning all we do is one simple, immutable belief – everybody deserves a break. How we do this: by providing excellent security, through nurse-led care for our clients, dreaming up imaginative excursions and trips – taking the clinical culture out and putting the fun back in whilst sharing stories and our unique gifts with one another. To achieve our aims, we run the largest residential volunteer programme of any UK charity, welcoming over 1,500 volunteers from across the world through its doors each year. Our volunteers, 80% of which are aged between 18 and 25, form a crucial part of the Revitalise team and our guests always tell us that a big part of what makes their break special is the relationships they form with the volunteers. We offer all volunteers the opportunity to build their confidence and learn valuable new skills.
