Recipient Org: Description We organise a unique kind of community events encompassing multi-sport, musical, dance performances and arts. Our events are open and free for the community. Our goals are to offer an amazingly fun experience, empower our community and offer valuable exposure for young talent, especially for those often underrepresented and within the poorer brackets of society. We are proud to represent BME groups (over 50% of the participants and spectators in our events are from BME groups) as well as offer gender equality through our events. Nearly 50% of our participants are female. Our group is managed and delivered by very passionate qualified and experienced volunteers that believe in our cause. Every manager and volunteer involved offers considerable amount of time and effort to support in order to give back to the community. This is key to the popularity of our events. Every year more volunteers put themselves forward to share their experience and knowledge to support and empower young people in the community, contribute to the madness ideals and expand the event. We are confident in the value and success of this initiative because of the steady increase and in followers and participants every year, making it a fully booked event in our last edition (July 2016). We work in partnership with the Brighton and Hove City Council, The Police, the Sussex County Sports Partnership, the University of Brighton, Sussex University, the Northbrook College and many other local community clubs and groups to offer a platform for recognition of community talent via our unique, fun, multi discipline events. We are fuelled by our intention to support underrepresented groups, celebrate life, health and respect. The Madness is looking for support to expand and continue offering opportunities for young people in our community to be recognised.
