Recipient Org: Description We are an integrated Sports & recreation centre that offers a wide range of activities and services to both our able-bodied and disabled members. We offer a small sports hall, spa bath, studio, therapy room, gym, sensory room, bar and café. All of our facilities are adapted to allow our disabled members to join in alongside other users of the centre, helping us to reduce the isolation and stigma that surrounds disabilities. Our varied programme of activities includes, rebound therapy, boccia, specialised disabled gym sessions, under 16 gym training, pulmonary groups, physiotherapy, speech therapy, under 5's play group, summer sports club, youth group, dance groups, kickboxing, disabled karate and much, much more. We want to improve the lives of those living with disabilities by offering an integrated centre where our disabled users can come and freely use our services and equipment, whilst feeling welcome, included and safe. We have specially trained staff that assist our members depending on their individual needs and provide care and support to many members suffering from severe physical and mental disabilities. Our services are available to everyone in the local community regardless of age, sex, race or gender and do not need a referral from a health care professional, members can book and use the service as they need to and can cater their time at the centre to their own needs with the help of their carers and centre staff. As well as our fundamental disabled members we offer our services and activities to able bodied members to create an inclusive, unique environment for everyone that comes to the centre.
