Recipient Org: City Banbury
Recipient Org: Description Dedicated volunteers provide Carers with a regular weekly break from their 24 hour caring role by sitting with the person they care for, often a person with dementia. Some volunteers take the cared for person out to give the Carer a break. Other volunteers help with shopping, gardening, cleaning, or by driving the Carer and Cared for, to and from appointments. Both volunteer and coordinator offer a vital listening ear. Caring for someone with dementia is very tiring and may be an isolating experience. A break away from the person they care for, may help prevent Carers reaching crisis point.
