The group will run weekly weight management, fitness and healthy eating activities for people within the local community, specifically those with mental health issues. This will improve the health and wellbeing of people who are socially isolated and those with poor mental health.
Young at Heart 16 May 2018
The organisation will bring together children from the nursery and older people from a local care home. Activities such as crafts, games, dressing up, music and dancing will be organised, with a final event to include a wider audience such as families.
Opportunity Knocks 27 Jun 2018
The group will deliver multi-sport and tennis sessions for young people with additional needs and disabilities, where they will be provided with activities to improve their health whilst getting to know new people, with the aim of reducing isolation.

The school will run group sessions with informal education and interventions for vulnerable students. They will also provide confidential drop in sessions with access to support, advice and information, to help build confidence and self-esteem and encourage healthy lifestyle choices.

Helping Hands Club 18 Jul 2018
The funding will be used to deliver after school clubs and school holiday provisions for children and families. This will provide volunteering opportunities for parents to help deliver the sessions, as well as family engagement and learning activities, to bring families together.
Willington Refurbishment Community Project 18 Apr 2018
The group will refurbish their community room. This will improve the facilities of the club for the benefit of community groups and residents to access activities, meetings and events.
The group will offer advice and support, counselling, health improvement work, early intervention and prevention around mental health concerns, for farmers, their families and the wider agricultural community including young people in Teesdale. The project will provide 24 hour, seven days a week advice and support through telephone advice helpline, advocacy, befriending and signposting service, organise social and community events designed to reduce isolation.
To continue to employ a volunteer co-ordinator for the organisation, which supports carers in Durham and Chester-Le-Street.
Towards the salary of a clerical support worker and an adult senior support worker.
To deliver a life skills programme to vulnerable young people in County Durham to help them to live independently.
Towards the salary of a part-time parent carer support worker.
