The Regent Street Cinema redevelopment project 15 Jul 2013

To support the redevelopment of the Regent Street Cinema at Westminster University

Mystery Tour 30 Jun 2017

The grant will be used to pay for club members entry to the 'secret' venue to be visited.

Getting Together 30 Jun 2017

We will use the grant to subsidise the cost of two luncheon clubs. Many members live alone, on restricted incomes, with no personal transport and limited access to public transport. The luncheon Clubs are one way of encouraging participation which in itself helps to maintain a healthy mental and physical lifestyle. The grant will enable members to meet others, eat a healthy, nutritional and nourishing meal, engage in conversation, share memories, talk, listen. All these aspects promote healthy mental and physical living and independence for older members.

Our aim is to keep contact with club members to organize outings speakers and entertainers and to hold meetings twice monthly with quizzes and refreashments films etc.

Out and About 30 Jun 2017

The grant will be used to subsidise the travel costs of 5 excursions.It will reduce the cost of outings, thus enabling members to contribute to the events but without financial hardship or more importantly no access at all because of limited personal finance. The following needs will be addressed as individuals participate with others thus reducing social isolation; providing mental stimulation; care and support for elderly members enabling many to maintain their physical and mental health and well being as they strive to maintain their independance against rising costs; encouraging reminicence of previous experiences as the visits incorporate historical, art and cultural sites;

VIBNO 30 Jun 2017

Privately hiring a horse drawn narrow boat to provide a private day trip to ensure it meets the needs of the group (the public don't understand the needs of the visually impaired). Most attendees require one-to-one guiding/carers to accompany them.

Camping equipment purchase 01 Aug 2017

Until last year we were a non camping Guide unit. We successfully ran a weekend camp in July 2016 to introduce the skills needed by the girls to go camping as a Guide. They were all very positive and eager to try a longer camp. We are just about to embark on a five day camp at Marlow [July24th-28th] with 18 girls from our unit of 24. However our equipment is very limited and we have found ourselves borrowing from other units due to a constraint on funds. Whilst our friendly leaders from other units are always happy to let us use their equipment we have decided that it is time to purchase certain items of our own as we have already planned other camping opportunities for our Guides in August and November this year and February next year. No doubt there will also be a summer camp next year too but it is too early to plan that yet. If successful with the grant application we would put it towards purchasing 1 or 2 more patrol sleeping tents, some cooking stoves and cooking equipment, a designated first aid tent and general camping equipment including lighting and cooking gear. We recently held a fundraising event which allowed us to purchase one patrol sleeping tent.

Rainbow House 06 Oct 2017

It will support running costs of the project.

Pioneering Camp 11 Dec 2017

to buy six Vango Talus 400 tents which will provide a resource that can be used for the future. We will use the tents to go camping, which is a versatile activity which can develop a variety of different skills. Camps are a great way for young people to get to know each other and great lifelong friendships – they also develop a sense of community. Whilst they are away, they also improve their teamwork and communication skills, which are vital to future employment, and learn how to live in close proximity with others.
