Paediatric Neurosurgical HD Endoscope 30 Nov 2016
Purchase of a state-of-the-art Neurosurgical HD Endoscope that will act as a critical surgical tool for young patients in life and death situations due to challenging neurological trauma. This life-saving equipment will be based within the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow (RHC) - Scotland’s largest children’s hospital.
This project seeks to test the recommendations of The Commission for Childcare Reformâ€™s 2015 report, a longitudinal approach to transforming how childcare services in Scotland are organised, delivered and paid for. The project will through a partnership approach increase the provision of high quality childcare. Activities will support the establishment of a sustainable, flexible and affordable childcare model which will be developed in tandem with Glasgowâ€™s community development strategy, Thriving Places.
30th Anniversary Party 10 Aug 2016
This group will use the funding to celebrate their 30th anniversary. The celebration will include a ceilidh, art workshops and dance performances. The events will be open to all families and children from the local community.
This group from Glasgow provide play and learning activities for children and their parents/carers. The grant will allow the group to organise a range of activities, encouraging children to use their minds and imagination, interact with other children and eat healthily. The grant will be used to fund a Blair Drummond Safari Park trip, sessional fees for activity art workshops/activity therapy sessions/play sessions and healthy snacks, and purchase play equipment.
This group aims to teach young people about gardening, the environment and promoting a healthy diet. fruit trees, training, tools, materials, publicity and web host.
Inspiring Change 12 Feb 2010
The fund will train young people in Glasgow, North Ayrshire and Inverclyde in the use of new digital media to enable them to voice their concerns about and solutions to child poverty in their local areas through an online community. This grant will fund venue hire, facilitator costs, an online communication tool workshop, digital equipment, refreshments, web editing training, activities/knowledge exchange sessions, an evaluation report and travel expenses.
This group from Glasgow promotes the creation of a children's garden. The grant will enable the group to produce a documentary film about the children's garden to be shown in schools and at the Botanic Gardens. The grant will be used to fund production and tutoring costs, digital camcorder, spare battery and tapes, microphone and final cutting of the film.
The YES Project (Young East end Speaking) 26 Jan 2006
The project will reduce the social isolation of 3300 children and young people (300 direct and 3,000 indirect beneficiaries) living in the East End of Glasgow and help them develop the skills, self esteem and confidence to become more involved in their local communities and self advocate. It will address territorial issues and unite groups from across the east end on shared issues to work together as a team, to make a positive difference to their communities at a local level.
This group organise holidays for local disadvantaged children. The grant is for holiday costs.
