The project will provide individual and organisational development to volunteering organisations through coaching for volunteer managers, training in self assessment to volunteering infrastructure organisations and outcomes training for volunteering organisations. It will increase the skills, confidence and attitude of volunteering organisations, increase their long-term effectiveness and enable them to respond to change.

The Manchester branch of Community Service Volunteers runs a range of projects that encourage people to take up learning via its Media Clubhouse. With this award it will deliver workshops, led by a qualified nutritionist, aimed at individuals who want to become volunteer healthy living advisors. The volunteers will be recruited from groups with multiple disadvantages as well as minority groups based in and around the City Centre.

This volunteer group help children with cancer. The group will use an award increase the number of volunteers supporting their work by creating a promotional stand and information leaflets. They will also develop an information website where prospective volunteers can offer their services.
The organisation will use the funding to train 7 additional volunteers who, will be trained and coached in activity planning, marketing, mentoring and once trained, recruit new volunteers for the organisation. This will enable the organisation to support the training needs of the additional volunteers, and complements the need to offer volunteering opportunities to the more mature people in the community to develop skills and employment opportunities.
