This project will work across Leeds, primarily with refugees and asylum seekers, supporting them to face and overcome problems such as immigration status, poverty, language barriers and lack of knowledge of the British way of life. The beneficiaries will have a multitude of special needs, their lives having been characterised by turbulence,emotional trauma and family loss. The project will provide information, advice and support on a one-to-one basis to children in vulnerable families, according to need.

Check Point - SELF Project (Sexual Exploitation, Live Freely) 11 May 2011

This project aims to support young people at risk of sexual exploitation and to educate families on the dangers of online grooming. The project will target boys and young men, with a focus on vulnerable groups, such as children in care, young people in pupil referral units and those with mental health problems. It will help people escape abusive relationships and tackle truancy and aggressive or criminal behaviour. This will be done through outreach work, advice, awareness raising and e-safety awareness.

The Children's Society will lead the Safe Choices project for young women leaving care or leaving young offender institutions. Working in Southwark and Islington the project will provide the young women with practical, therapeutic and advocacy support. It includes counselling and guidance to help the young women build better relationships, improve their self-esteem and cope with peer pressure.
