A Hall for the Village, not just a Village Hall 15 Sep 2017
This association based in Beith manages a community centre and community garden for local residents. The funding will be used to refurbish the interior of Barrmill Village Hall by replacing the heating system, laying new flooring and upgrading the décor.
The Open Arms Project 14 Dec 2017
This group will use its three year grant to deliver their 'Open Arms' project. The project will provide outreach to engage with 950 vulnerable minority ethnic women in Edinburgh who are experiencing isolation and face multiple barriers to full participation in social and civic life. This will help the women involved to address mental health issues and also develop confidence, skills and friendships, building their independence.
This organisation provide support to those affected by divorce, separation or relationship breakdown. This project will continue the organisation’s work with young people targeting the area of Raploch with six-week mentoring courses led by young volunteers working with children and young people whose parents have separated or divorced.
Complex and Multiple Needs Service 20 Sep 2017
This group will provide addictions counselling and advocacy support to older people who have substance misuse issues and who are not engaging with mainstream recovery services. A variety of counselling approaches will be used to support clients in a holistic way to motivate them to reduce or cease their substance use. They will also be helped to rebuild appropriate relationships with family and friends and will be encouraged to link into local community services.
Local Voices - Refugee Health & Wellbeing 15 Sep 2017
This project will enable the group to deliver a six week programme in Renfrewshire and North Lanarkshire to raise awareness of mental health issues within the refugee community.
This project will improve the energy efficiency of the Scout Hall by installing new lighting, hot water heaters, a fridge freezer, and heating in the shower room.
Westerhaven Cancer Support Service 23 May 2017
This funding will be used to continue the groups support project for people with a diagnosis of cancer or other life limiting illness, and their families. The project provides practical, emotional and social support, complementary therapies and a befriending service. Those with a diagnosis, undergoing treatment, in recovery, or receiving palliative care will have access to 8 or 16 specialist counselling sessions.
Reach Out Merkinch Activity Group 24 Apr 2017
This funding will be used to provide local people with new opportunities for socialising, learning and participating in activities to address issues of social isolation and deprivation. The activities will be aimed at people living in Merkinch who are lonely, socially isolated, are experiencing poor health, and have other barriers preventing them from improving their situation. The activities will be led by a steering group of local people who have identified these issues and want to do something about it.
Pollokshaws Area Network 22 Sep 2017
This group will use the funding to bring the community together through a variety of activities to build capacity, develop new skills, and improve health and wellbeing. Activities will be based in Pollokshaws Community Hub and Garden. The organisation currently run regular activities including: a community choir, exercise classes, yoga, coffee and chat, needlecraft and a community garden.
