Volunteers Week Celebrations 23 May 2005
The award will fund an event to celebrate Volunteers Week & the Year of the Volunteer. This will incorporate an awards ceremony where certificates will be presented to three of their member organisations who have demonstrated the best practice during the past year. There will be showcases of their work and volunteers will talk about their experiences of volunteering. The purpose will be to highlight the work of volunteers and promote the benefits of volunteering.

Community Service Volunteers (CSV) works to reconnect people to their community through volunteering and training and to enrich people?s lives. This project will produce short audio and visual clips on volunteer's experiences, produced by the volunteers themselves. CSV will showcase the clips in order to recognise their efforts and promote volunteering to others, through radio, TV and at local community events. This will be done in conjunction with the 'Year of the Volunteer' campaign.
This is a project by a charity in Southwark. They will use funding to recruit and train volunteers to work with other volunteers, and hold consultation and feedback events for voluntary organisations throughout London. This will help to streamline volunteer services, ensuring the voices of volunteers are heard with regards to key policy decisions that affect them.

Volunteering England (VE) is a new organisation established as a result of a merger between Volunteering Development England and the National Centre for Volunteering (2004). This grant was originally awarded to the National Association of Volunteer Bureaux in 2003, and due to a name change in late 2003 and the merger in 2004 has changed identity twice within an 18 month period.

This project will develop volunteer infrastructure in Lambeth, improving the quality and increasing the quantity of volunteering. The project will establish a volunteer centre, which will meet six core functions; matching and referring volunteers to volunteer involving organisations, marketing volunteering, developing good practice among volunteer involving organisations, developing volunteering opportunities, policy response campaigning, and strategic development of volunteering.

This project will develop a structured training and development programme for new volunteers to the organisation. It will offer a comprehensive introduction to volunteering including office skills, listening skills and provide 'work' experience. The project will develop the organisation's training capability and offers new skills to volunteers, improving the service offered to the community.
This project will train and equip older people to act as volunteers to lead local activities for their peers in Manchester. Volunteers will choose to partake in three areas; active body activities, active mind activities and intergenerational activities. An example of an active body group could be walking groups, six to be established where volunteers are trained as walk leaders and first aiders.
Employer Supported Volunteering Project 09 Nov 2004
This three-year grant will enable the project to develop a co-ordinated approach to employee volunteering in Greenwich with a view to increasing the number of employers supporting their staff to volunteer in the community. This will be achieved by developing, promoting and implementing a tailor made Employer Supported Volunteering programme for key public employers including the local council, the police and local businesses.

The Enfield Volunteering Information Service (EVIS), run by Enfield Voluntary Action, works to improve the profile of volunteers and volunteering in the borough. Information is distributed to volunteers, and new volunteering opportunities are promoted in the local press and community newsletters. EVIS works with voluntary organisations to help them identify training needs of volunteers and subsequently delivers the training that is required.

This volunteer centre in Merton will run various promotional events to recruit more volunteers, including a celebration event, a volunteers fair, a campaign, and special promotions.

This project will develop the opportunities and support organisations using volunteers to gain the Investing in Volunteers accreditation.
