The project will introduce structured activities and workshops, a peer mentoring programme and a pilot minibus service to the group's services for young people aged 10-19 from the Pyle, Cornelly and Cefn Cribbwr areas.The grant, over three years, will contribute to the part time salaries of a project manager, senior youth worker, deputy senior youth worker and youth workers, transport costs, staff training, resources and training for peer mentoring activities, overheads, and recruitment.
FINAL PHASE TO REES CENTRE REFURBISHMENT 17 Apr 2016
Talbot Community Centre in Bridgend will use the grant to install a new boiler and sound system to increase accessibility and quality of the Rees Centre, which is attached back-to-back to the Talbot Hall. This grant for Â£3,770 will fund the purchase and installation of a new boiler and sound system.
The project will refurbish the Talbot Centre to enable it to be used by the community. A lunch club will be set up to reduce the isolation that older people experience and youth activities will be set up with a view to reducing youth annoyance in the area. Splice Child and Family Project Limited will provide opportunities for physical outdoor activities for the families that use the group's centre which will positively contributes to their health. The project meets the awards for all sim of 'extending access and participation'. This grant for £819 will fund outside store, shelters, outdoor protective clothing, "talking tubes" toy and other equipment.
The project is to develop the group's digital photography activities. The money is for a laptop computer, projector and photographic software.
Newmilns Community Nature Site Project 01 Mar 2010
This group will develop an existing paths network which will provide a site for recreation and nature study for local people. The grant will pay for path resurfacing, motorcycle inhibitors, totem pole, granite benches, picnic bench, wooden paling and posts, timber, soil, plants, hedge trees, clearance costs and a wildlife interpretation panel.
