Volunteer forum 17 Jul 2006
This volunteer bureau will establish several fora for existing volunteers and those interested in volunteering. A large proportion of those involved in volunteering have been previously isolated by virtue of being either unemployed, newly arrived in the UK or having mental health issues. This project will offer training and information as well as an opportunity for networking with other volunteers. This in turn will enable them to grow in confidence and enhance the skills they use in their volunteer work.
Volunteers Week Celebrations 23 May 2005
The award will fund an event to celebrate Volunteers Week & the Year of the Volunteer. This will incorporate an awards ceremony where certificates will be presented to three of their member organisations who have demonstrated the best practice during the past year. There will be showcases of their work and volunteers will talk about their experiences of volunteering. The purpose will be to highlight the work of volunteers and promote the benefits of volunteering.
This group develops and promotes volunteering by removing barriers to participation and improving opportunities. This project will celebrate volunteers in the Scottish Borders, acknowledging people who volunteer as the unsung heroes of the community.
Supported Volunteering Pilot 12 Oct 2005
The charitable group intends to run a supported volunteering project to assist people with disabilities and others to overcome barriers to volunteering. Volunteers will receive special support during the first month of their placements. In their new roles volunteers will gain skills and self-esteem, at the same time as providing useful assistance to local organisations.
Volunteer Week Conference 21 Apr 2005
An award enables the Council for Voluntary Service/Volunteer bureau to hold a conference to address issues confronting volunteering today. It will bring volunteering organisations together with business and the public sector to promote volunteering in the wider community. The conference will also mark the 25th Year of the Volunteer Centre and the significant contribution of volunteers to local community life.

Volunteer Centre Swindon provides advice and guidance to anyone in and around Swindon wishing to volunteer. Funding was to support a project to engage ex-offenders in volunteering.
Disabled volunteers 13 Jan 2006
The group provides mentoring support to children through a network of volunteers with the aim of creating an interest in learning and raising confidence and motivation. The project is to recruit disabled people to become mentors in the areas of Corby and Northampton. The new volunteers will be supported by existing volunteers with disabilities and will also be given the opportunity to develop their own mentoring skills.
RSVP Volunteers 14 Dec 2005
Under their Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme, this group will place volunteers over 50 years of age with York's Out Of School clubs. They will bring experience and creativity to children under 10 years old. The award is for volunteer expenses, promotional materials, room hire and CSV travel expenses.
It Can't Be Happening in Wisbech 22 Jun 2016
This charity will use the funding to recruit young disadvantaged volunteers who will produce a monthly volunteering magazine. The magazine will promote volunteering opportunities for young people and the volunteers producing the magazine will acquire new skills, confidence and experience to improve their employability.

The group will use the award to enable volunteers to achieve the standards demanded by the recently launched Investing in Volunteers scheme administered by Volunteering England. The project will produced a double benefit: it will increase participation by volunteers from across the community and will enable those volunteers to reach out more widely and deliver more effectively.

This volunteer centre will use an award to set up a volunteer scheme within the centre, the volunteers will work alongside the paid staff to improve the service given and allow more people to get involved in volunteering locally. Volunteer recruitment and training 25 Jan 2006
This branch of Volunteer Reading Help, recruits, trains and supports volunteers that work with children to develop literacy and social skills. Thegrant will enable a targeted recruitment and training campaign to increase the number of volunteer reading helpers from BME communities in Kensington and Chelsea.
This project is for a promotional event and awareness raising campaign for the Volunteer Centre in Northampton. The event and new promotional materials hope to increase the number of volunteers that the centre can engage and support. It will also be used in conjunction with new lunchtime drop-in sessions, telephone follow-up and bite-sized training courses for organisations using volunteers.

This is a project by an incorporated charity in Canterbury. The organisation will use the funding to establish regular forums, virtual networks, peer support and mentoring opportunities for local volunteers as well as enabling the beneficiaries to produce their own bespoke volunteer led training materials. This will empower and support the training needs of local volunteers, encourage volunteering and community engagement and help reduce the drop-out rate of volunteers within the local area.
