This project will build on the work People in Partnership does to provide advocacy for parents with learning disabilities. The support available has been designed with parents, and aims to build their parenting skills and increase understanding of child protection and care proceedings. A new project worker will provide practical support and training for parents to reduce the risk of abusive relationships, unplanned pregnancies and social isolation.

Advocacy Support & Empowerment PLUS 21 Mar 2018
Support will be provided to people in Birmingham, with a specific focus on black, Asian and minority ethnic communities. This project aims to reduce levels of unmanageable debt by advising people on a range of options so they can better manage their situation. There will be a focus on improving people’s knowledge of their rights when dealing with bailiffs and evictions. They will also learn how to increase household incomes through welfare benefits, as well as budgeting skills and money management.

This group will hold a community market on a derelict inner city site. This will improve this former community site and encourage the development of positive relationships between local people.
‘BREATHE’ Advice and Advocacy Service 31 May 2017
This project will expand the BREATHE Advice and Advocacy Service to give more people in Kingstanding and Erdington the tools they need to find solutions to issues they face. It will offer workshops on welfare reform, law, money management and completing application forms. The service will be focused on preventing homelessness by signposting people to relevant services supporting independent living. Placements with Advance UK for people with a disability or mental health issues will also be offered.
Witton Lakes Eco Hub 13 Oct 2017
A community hub will be created in a green space, which will deliver a range of activities to address issues experienced by local people, such as poor health and wellbeing, low self-esteem and fuel poverty. There will be a specific focus on helping people to live more sustainably and economically. The facility will also help people improve their educational attainment and to volunteer, supporting them to improve their skills and experience, to increase their chances of employment.
