To develop Scotland's First National Prison Visitors' Scheme 07 Jul 2004

This project will establish a National Prison Visitors' Scheme in Scotland to support prisoners, particularly the vulnerable and at risk, and consequently reduce re-offending. This three year grant will fully fund the salary costs of a full-time Prison Visitors' Co-ordinator, a full-time Prison Visitors' Assistant Co-ordinator and a full-time Visitors' Clerical Assistant, office equipment, rent, general running expenses, information production costs, training and travel for staff and volunteers.

This project will upgrade an existing pitch at St Angela's Primary School in Darnley to a floodlight synthetic turf seven-a-side pitch. The pitch will be marked and equipped for football, hockey, netball, tennis and athletics. It will be used to support and enhance the delivery of curricular, extra curricular and wider community activity. The new facility will benefit 310 pupils from St Angela's Primary, 217 pupils from other schools and 8000 from the wider community.
