Introduction to Pole Vault Programme 30 Mar 2009

This athletics club will use an award to create a new pole vault section at the club. This will involve purchasing new equipment and delivering sessions to local schools as well as providing opportunities for young people and adults to take part. There will also be the opportunity for volunteers and coaches to train to gain new skills in delivering sessions.

Art in gardens family fun run 01 May 2008

60th celebration 19th Prestwich Scouts 28 May 2009

This scout group in Manchester are celebrating their 60th year. They will use funding to make a Totem Pole from recycled materials that will be displayed outside their meeting place. The workshops with an artist will encourage the scouts to take ownership of their creation and will focus on learning skills about recycled materials.

This is a project by a school in Rochdale. The group will use the funding to provide outdoor play facilities for children. The Cobbs Infants Wild Garden 14 May 2008

The Cobbs Nursery and Infant School, based in Warrington, will create a wild garden on a part of the school grounds that is currently underused. The works will include the construction of a bird hide and a number of animal habitats, such as bird boxes and feeders, bat boxes and insect piles. The RSPB will be working with the school to give professional advice and deliver educational sessions. A path and benches will also be installed.

Eco Gardens Nature Trail 15 Apr 2009

Friends of St Bernadette's Eco Gardens' programme of events throughout June will include guided tours, storytelling, willow sculpture, bird displays, habitat, bird seed balls and edible picture making days, log pile and bug hotel construction, mini-beast and ancient tree hunts and five planned trips for children within the community to other wildlife areas. They will be involved in creating and maintaining new habits in addition to monitoring how the various species interact.

Edgeside Community Woodland 07 May 2007

This group will use funding to develop a community woodland with pathways and a nature trail. Felling and thinning will create site lines and woodland glades with seating areas and allow more natural light to filter down into the woods, where native woodland wildflowers will be re-introduced to increase biodiversity. Timber will be used to create habitat piles and fencing and hedging will be installed. Bird and bat boxes will also be installed.
