Volunteering Development Project 03 Mar 2005
This project will contribute towards the demand for high quality professional information, advice and training for volunteers and volunteer recruiting organisations. It will increase the capacity and number of prospective volunteers, including people traditionally excluded from volunteering e.g. people with disabilities, asylum seekers, refugees and those who would find it difficult to volunteer.
Volunteer Train & Reward Project 10 Feb 2011
The Burnley community organisation will offer volunteer training in various qualifications to enable volunteers to create pathways to employment. This will provide the opportunity for volunteers to gain skills to improve confidence and chances in employment.
Investing in Volunteers 22 Mar 2005
The group will use the award to enable volunteers to achieve the standards demanded by the recently launched Investing in Volunteers scheme administered by Volunteering England. The project will produced a double benefit: it will increase participation by volunteers from across the community and will enable those volunteers to reach out more widely and deliver more effectively.

This is a project by a voluntary organisation in Burnley. The organisation will use funding to offer volunteer training qualifications including first aid and child protection and recognise volunteers hard work with an award event. This will provide an opportunity for volunteers to gain skills to improve their confidence and increase their chances of gaining employment.

The project will provide individual and organisational development to volunteering organisations through coaching for volunteer managers, training in self assessment to volunteering infrastructure organisations and outcomes training for volunteering organisations. It will increase the skills, confidence and attitude of volunteering organisations, increase their long-term effectiveness and enable them to respond to change.

A volunteer project to support the organisation's existing team of twenty volunteers and recruit a further thirty volunteers over the life of the grant. Volunteers support the organisation in most areas of its work including administration duties and practical support for service users. The grant will be used for a new part-time Volunteer Co-ordinator and running costs.

Volunteer work at Liverpool hospitals will help people marginalised through disability, unemployment or single parenthood find work. The volunteers will receive constant support from experienced volunteers to build their self esteem, confidence and social and life skills and will receive help to develop skills with job applications, CVs and interviews.

This group will use an award to fund a volunteer training and development project that will include induction and training for new volunteers to enable them to work at the hospice. The grant will also pay for relevant equipment, a volunteer newsletter and noticeboards and a volunteer awards ceremony in order to improve the self esteem of the volunteers.

This project will help to recruit a volunteer development worker responsible for the recruitment and training of volunteers. A capacity building project, the main aim will be to recruit and train volunteers in advice giving skills. Barrow Citizens Advice Bureaux now uses an electronic information system and all volunteers will be trained in IT skills.

This group recruits and trains volunteers from the local community to develop children's reading skills and supports the volunteers to make school visits to carry out their work. They will carry out a targeted recruitment campaign, provide training sessions in accessible locations, and provide resources for the volunteers.

This charity will run a programme of training courses for volunteers in listening skills, hand massage and crafts. The volunteers work in most departments within the local hospital offering support to patients. Once trained the volunteers will offer hand massage and therapeutic craft activities to patients, reducing anxiety and stress during their stay in hospital.
This is a project by a registered charity in Chorley, Lancashire. The organisation will use the funding to purchase new equipment, up skill current volunteers and recruit and train new volunteers. This will enable volunteers to gain new skills and enable the organisation to develop a strong and sustainable volunteer pool.

This is a pilot project for the bureaux that is intended to encourage people in the local community to become invloved in volunteering. The award will fund the employment costs of a support worker, including office costs, travel expenses and volunteer training.
