This project will develop the existing work of the Clydesdale Youth Project to improve and expand the provision of services to children and young people aged 12-16. It will develop a relatively innovative approach to tackling issues that lead to children and young people appearing before the Children's Panel by specifically targeting families and the family environment.
North Devon Young Fathers Network 10 Mar 2010
This project will provide a confidential support and information service for young fathers aged 14 to 25 and their children, aged five and under, in North Devon. The project will help establish professional mentoring relationships and trust between project staff and the beneficiaries. Activities will include setting goals to access educational and training opportunities and sessions at local children's centres to gain positive parenting skills and improve emotional well-being and life outcomes.
The group will research the idea of a supportive employment programme for young people living in Perth and Kinross, who have been involved with the Criminal Justice System. The group will examine how the UK Government's Green Deal initiative can offer skills training for its target beneficiary group.
Hampshire Mentoring Project 08 Mar 2005
The project will provide volunteer mentors to children and young people aged 15-18 years, who come from deprived areas of Hampshire.
Funding will enable families who have children with disabilities to have a central point of contact who can liase between the services and professionals who work with young children. This service will be provided at diagnosis, during assessment and prior to entry at school.

The project will establish family support & childcare resources to allow inclusive access to childcare. This will be done by providing specialised staff to support children with complex needs and creating a contact point for parents to get support and advice, developing additional childcare places, & creating opportunities for parents & carers to participate in joint play sessions.

NCH Scotlands's idea is to employ a consultant to carry out a feasibility study/options appraisel to investigate the viability of their proposed social enterprise. The grant will fund consultants fees, feasibility study and options appraisal.
Skills for Living Project - Gwent 09 Apr 2008
The skills for living project will target young adults aged 16-21, who are leaving local authority care. The project will help these young adults to learn key psychosocial skills to reduce their vulnerability to serious mental health problems and self-harm and help them to engage in fulfilling lives within their communities. The project will work with local community groups to raise awareness of mental health issues and to seek mentors to help the young people to put their learning into practice.
This is a development grant which has been awarded so that the applicant can work up a more detailed application
Action for Children Connecting Families Project 19 Mar 2012
Action for Children will deliver the project in partnership with Bridgend Home-Start, Families First and Bridgend County Borough Council's Integrated Family Support team, locally known as Connecting Families project. The project will deliver improved outcomes for 150 families. This project will deliver targeted family support with children and parents to improve their lives and prevent family issues escalating to crisis point requiring statutory intervention.
Street Level 13 Oct 2006
NCH Street Level will raise the self- confidence and social skills of young people who have experienced homelessness. The project will work with 50 young people per year, providing them with leisure cards which will give them access to all of Dundee City Council's Leisure facilities. The grant will pay for 50 leisure passes each year and will also fund the provision of outdoor activities to 24 young people each year.
Let's Talk 11 Aug 2006
NCH Falkirk will deliver the project 'Let's Talk' to young people from Falkirk, Clackmannanshire and Stirlingshire to help them communicate more readily with their peers, families, carers and others. The grant will fund a Communications Development Worker to help young people develop their skills in communication to enable them to take a more active part in care reviews. The grant will pay the full costs of a Communications Development Worker for four years.
Parent Counselling Service 09 Apr 2008
The parent counselling service will provide early intervention support to parents in Caerphilly who are suffering from depression, anxiety and obsessional compulsive disorders. Individuals receiving support will have children who have been identified as having behavioural or emotional difficulties, and the project will provide cognitive behavioural therapy to improve emotional stability and resilience in individuals; thereby improving stability in the family unit.
A project by this London based charity to provide creative post natal depression therapy sessions to mothers in Teignbridge, Devon, with a view to providing them stronger life skills through improved emotional literacy, increased self worth and internal coping mechanisms.
Little Steps/Big Steps 16 Apr 2013
The project will support 280 young parents aged 14-25 living in Swansea by delivering improved signposting and support throughout their parenting journey. This will be achieved by working with them and using other agencies to define pathways through pregnancy and parenthood, creating plans for them, providing life coaches to help support and steer and creating a focused assessment process.
