Registered Charity catering for the needs of ex-service personnel applies to carry out essential Health & Safety work to their hall floor to facilitate increasing on going use of the premises for community activities. Also to become Disability Discrimination legislation compliant by installing toilet facilities suitable for use by disabled persons

This organisation support ex-servicemen and women of the Armed Forces, including their families. The project is to hold an informal community gathering to allow people to share their experiences.

Celebration and musical festival 14 Apr 2005

The South West Hampton Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to allow them to carry out a 60th anniversary celebration meal and film afternoon for their members.

60th Anniversary Event 11 May 2005

The Ladybarn and district branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The celebration will involve entertainment from local group who will play music from the period.

Celebration Concert at the Sage 11 May 2005

The Northumberland / Tyne & Wear county of the Royal British Legion will hold a VE Celebration Concert at the Sage in Gateshead. The event will feature Her Majesty's Ryal Marine Band, a choir of 200, young people, celebrities and the standard of the Royal British Legion.

VE/VJ Day 60th Anniversary Celebrations 12 May 2005

The New Edgeware branch of The Royal British Legion will use a grant to organise a series of activities designed to celebrate 60 years of peacetime since VE/VJ Day. The first component will entail a reunion of veterans and those that lived through the War under the title of 'Blitz Night', which will include food and period entertainment alongside a memorabilia display. A similar evening will also be carried out for the broader community.

Memorial Service 12 May 2005

The Royal British Legion Women's section have been awarded a grant that will allow them to host two launches . One will be for the dedication of a memorial garden for fallen comrades of WW2. The second will be a reunion of members where they will also take the opportunity to have their standard dedicated.

Presenting the Legion in the Community 21 Apr 2005

The group will be able to improve the quality of presentations to existing and potential members with enhanced digital equipment.

The Buckhurst Hill Branch of The Royal British Legion will use a grant to fund two events aimed at commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This will include a day of remembrance to be followed by a street party, alongside the rededication of the local war memorial.

The Hebburn Branch of the Royal British Legion has been awarded a grant that will allow them to hold a social evening where there will be wartime entertainment in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of WW2.

Church Service and Celebration 27 May 2005

The Handforth Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a commemorate event to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the end of World War Two. A reception will be held afterwards with local cadet forces, girl guides, scouts and other community groups expected to come together to celebrate.

Airbase Activities 27 May 2005

The Penketh and Sankey Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to hold a street party to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Burtonwood Heritage Museum will contribute exhibits to the event and an evening dance with have a themed 1940's troupe.

Bisley, Knaphill & West End Exhibition Day 28 Apr 2005

The Bisley, Knaphill and West End branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to commemorate the 60th anniversary of WW2 by hiring a local venue and holding a programme of events which will include an exhibition, a video room, and a commemoration meal.

60 Years On- A Family Day 28 Apr 2005

The group will use a grant to organise a day of activities aimed at celebrating the 60th Anniversary of VE Day. The programme of events will include a band, military demonstrations and the presentation of 'veterans badges' by the MOD. A large-scale display of both military and civilian vintage vehicles will take place alongside displays from the Royal British Legion, Horticultural Society, The Red Cross and the WRVS.
