Kilkeel RBL - Saving Our Community Venue 22 Oct 2015
The group is a community and voluntary based organisation providing a range of services and activities to the local community. They received a grant of Â£10,000 to make improvements to their venue so that it can be used for more classes and activities.
The organisation supports serving and ex service military personnel and their families. They are using the Â£10,000 to upgrade their facilities so they can be used for more community activities and events. ).
D-Day Commemoration Service and Parade 25 Jun 2004
The Northenden branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to enable them to hold a commemmoration service and parade in celebration of the anniversary of D-Day. Various old comrades groups and associations will be represented. The event will culminate in a concert by the local silver band.
Veterans Awareness Day at the Races 30 Dec 2004
This independent branch of the charity will use an award to commemorate the end of the Second World War by holding a "Veterans Awareness Day" at the Races in Lingfield Park during the National Veterans Awareness Week in July 2005. The Races will be named after Veterans and a parade of standards accompanied by a Royal British Legion band will take place before the main race. This event will also comprise stalls and exhibitions of WWII memorabilia and the presentation of Veteran badges.
Parade to the War Memorial 28 Apr 2005
The Clacton-On-Sea Branch of The Royal British Legion would use the grant to assist with the costs of holding a parade to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This would involve numerous local groups besides the Legion itself, including: Sea Cadets, the Scouts, St John's Ambulance Brigade, Land Army and an array of ex-servicemen and women. This would be supported by a marching band and would provide the centrepiece for the localities commemoration programme.
This branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold three events to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Second World War. These events will involve a Drum head service, a street party and a concert.
Recording of Experiences and Memories 28 Apr 2005
The Southminster branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to record the wartime memories of veterans and local residents. A parade through the village involving veterans and historical vehicles will visit local schools enabling the children to see and talk with the members and the owners of the vehicles.
Celebratory Evening and Dance 28 Apr 2005
The Royal British Legion, Welwyn Garden City Branch have been awarded a grant that will allow them to hold two celebratory events for VE and VJ Day. The events will be attended by members and their families.

The Royal British Legion Gwent County Committee have been awarded a grant to hold a Drumhead Service of Thanksgiving to mark the 60th anniversary of the cessation of hostilities of World War Two. The event will be attended by many ex-services and veterans groups and will cover five county authorities in Wales.

This will include a parade, remembrance/thanksgiving service and a series of displays by various organisations and youth groups. This will be alongside a display of WW2 military vehicles and the sunset ceremony of the Last Post with a massed band.

The event will include a range of activities ranging from bands, displays including the Battle of Britain Flight, the culmination of the event will be a massed parade. The event will include both veterans and youth organisations.
