Pilot Festival 01 Apr 2004
Denmead will run a week long summer mini community festival at which residents will be able to take part in a range of cultural and sporting activities, including jazz and brass band concerts, skateboard competition, art show, forest forge show and workshops.

This club offers social and educational activities for older people in Wellow. This project is to broaden the range of activities available through the provision of extra speakers and trips.

This group promotes the sport of football in its area. The award means they can set up a girls under 9's team, two under 7's teams and purchase new kit for 2 of their existing teams. They will also be able to send new managers for these teams on training courses and stock up their club library with new books.. strips and equipment for various teams, coaching courses, child protection courses, police checks, coaching books/videos.
New Teams 01 Apr 2004
The club will develop its junior squads and establish a new age group. U12 and U16 teams will be formalised and entered in a league for the forthcoming season, provided with kit and training to enable this to happen. A new U10 squad will be established to compete in a local High 5 league. Local girls will be able to take part in healthy activity and develop their skills at the club.
Summer Camp 01 Apr 2004
Children and young people who would not otherwise have a holiday will be invited to attend a summer camp where they will try a range of outdoor activities.

Children from the age of 6 will have the chance to learn how to play chess with the help of coaches. The club will run taster sessions in local schools and organise local competitions.

A new out of hours sports club will be set up to introduce children and their parents to a range of multi sports including, fitness training, athletics, kwik cricket, tag and junior rugby, basketball, football, netball, baseball and tennis.

Disabled access will be installed at this village hall to enable everyone to participate in the community activities that take place.

The charity will buy a mini bus to help people with learning difficulties and their families have affordable transport to club meetings and activities.

Volunteers from the local community will be trained to become mediators and assist in the group's activities. It provides a free service for people who are in dispute with their neighbours.The project will enable ths group to extend its activities to more people in the community.

The organisation aims to enhance the town environment, promote cultural activities and encourage tourism. The project is to produce a video recording the activities of daily life in the burgh and comparing them with the last recording made ten years ago. This will include farming, industry, tourism, schools, religions and a wide range of organisations. The award is for a video camera, editing programme, tapes and lighting.
Peak Fitness 02 Apr 2004
This new group provide community walking for people over 60 years old, with the aim of promoting a healthy lifestyle. The project is to introduce members to the benefits and joys of walking in the Derbyshire Peak District with a series of walks entitled 'Peak Fitness'. All walks will take into account the differing abilities of people, and disabled people. The award is for sweatshirts, transport costs, paper, coputer ink, refreshments and publicity.

Year 6 pupils will attend a 3 day residential team / self esteem building course in Alston, Northumberland. booking for robin wood outdoor activity centre and transport to and from the centre.

This group aims to provide therapeutic aqua aerobics for people over 50. The award means they can hire a pool, an aqua-aerobics instructor and a life guard for weekly sessions. pool hire, life guard fees, instructor fees, insurance.

Group provide care for children and respite for partners of members of the Armed Forces. This project will create a soft play area for children including those with special needs to develop gross motor skills and early learning skills in a safe environment. The award is for soft play equipment and a ball pool.

A Jubilee in East Leake 02 Apr 2004

The project is to produce a book commemorating fifty years of the catholic church in East Leake and will involve research, oral history and an exhibition of photographs and artefacts.
