This project will develop a pilot funded by Esmee Fairburn Foundation to improve the success rate in volunteering for volunteers with more complex needs or multiple disabilities. It will provide intensive support to individual volunteers to enable them to make the most of the volunteering opportunities.
Prostate Awareness Volunteering Project 20 Dec 2010
This group will develop training and support for volunteers. This grant will fund volunteer handbook research, development, design and printing costs. The grant will also be used to provide materials for volunteer groups, two volunteer training seminars, volunteer expenses and promotional leaflets.
This three year project will provide dedicated local support to encourage and enable socially excluded people to volunteer. It will raise the profile of volunteering, encourage members of local communities to volunteer, work with local agencies to develop volunteering opportunities and cascade volunteering good practice. Through volunteering 190 socially excluded people living in South Edinburgh will increase their skills and confidence helping them to "move on".

The project will train a team of peer education volunteers to deliver talks and workshops in schools and youth organisations detailing the benefits of volunteering. The young people involved will be supported by a youth development worker and a dedicated youth volunteering website. The project will run for 3 years and train 50 peer education volunteers and encourage 400 young people into volunteering. The money will fund salaries and training costs.

This group will develop a programme of outreach events and volunteer training. This will benefit the staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries, who have a range of additional support needs. Volunteering as a first step towards employment 11 Jun 2008
This project will engage people who would not normally volunteer and support them into volunteering helping to improve their employability skills such as confidence, communication and team work enabling them to move into employment. The project will provide volunteer opportunities, guidance, training and support. The project will run for 5 years and will reach 1350 disadvantaged people living in west Edinburgh and the Pilton and Muirhouse areas of Edinburgh. The grant fully fund staff and project costs.
Volunteer Support Team 10 Sep 2008
The grant will increase the provision and quality of training and learning opportunities for the staff and volunteers of 55 existing and five new Citizens Advice Bureaux across Scotland. The project will improve volunteer recruitment rates by attracting 500 new volunteers especially from hard-to-reach groups that do not currently engage with bureaux creating a diverse volunteering base. This five year grant will fully fund three new full time Volunteer Support Officers.

This group will provide training in public speaking and equalities to its newly recruited peer educator volunteers. The project will enable volunteers to develop their skills and understanding to positively influence the lives of other young people. The grant will fund public speaking training (foundation and advanced) and equalities training.

This will enable the group to recruit more volunteers for its outreach and peace promoting projects in the UK and around the world and encourage the NEET community to become involved in volunteering.

This group will develop a garden share project by running a Volunteer Development and Training Programme from September 2011 to February 2012. This grant will fund a sessional volunteer worker, volunteer training, volunteer expenses, publicity materials, start up administration costs and a community event.
This group will organise exhibitions and workshops as part of the European Year of Volunteering 2011. It will take this project to schools, universities and community centres all across Scotland. The grant will fund a portable display, a banner stand, a 26" screen with stand, a multimedia player, train 50 volunteer trainers, volunteer travel and management support.

This group will finance a sessional volunteer support co-coordinator to support 11 newly recruited volunteers to the Edinburgh Community Mediation Service, who offer mediation to disputing neighbours, across the City of Edinburgh. This grant will be used towards sessional worker costs, materials and an end of project award ceremony.

Peer Support Programme 17 May 2012
The project will deliver a new peer support programme providing opportunities for people with learning and physical difficulties across Scotland to engage with trained volunteers to enable them to secure suitable housing. The volunteers will themselves have disabilities and have direct knowledge and personal experience of housing issues. The grant will contribute to the cost of volunteer recruitment, training, expenses, accommodation and venue costs.

This group will provide development opportunities for volunteers and will also develop their volunteer training programme by holding 2 - 1 day Leadership Skills Workshops and a residential team-building weekend. This grant will pay for DJ equipment, 10 DJ workshops, 2 training days, residential team building weekend and sessional workers costs for training days and residential weekend.
