Volunteer Training Day 18 Mar 2005
This group work with various other voluntary groups and agencies to develop volunteering within the city. They provide information, support and advice for the people they work with. This award will allow them to run a free training event where they will run a range of workshops on topics identified as being important in recruiting and supporting more volunteers. venue hire, refreshments/buffet, childcare costs and resources.

Stepping Stones 18 Jul 2013
Student Volunteering Cardiff will pilot a project called Stepping Stones which is a befriending project for young adults aged 18-25 years with a learning disability. The project will meet the Awards for All Wales aim of 'improving the quality of life'.This grant for £2,242 will fund volunteers travel and activity costs.
This law centre provides free advice and representation to people living or working in the Sheffield area. They will use the award to improve access for clients and volunteers by installing a hearing loop and providing a computer for volunteers which can be linked to the Centre's network, and used by an existing volunteer who is a wheelchair user. The award will pay for a computer and attachment to network; loop system; height adjustable desk.
This voluntary services group in Essex will use an award to hold two community events to acknowledge publicly the value of volunteers. This will encourage people to volunteer in future.

The group will use the funding to develop their volunteer youth network's organisational framework and volunteering opportunities. A project to support and develop local volunteers in Cannock, Staffs to work with a variety of projects supporting children and families. The grant will pay for induction packs, volunteer expenses, training and promotional events.
The group, based in Fort William, will provide training in basketball for local young people, who will then volunteer at weekly basketball sessions in the Fort William and Kinlochleven areas. The grant will fund a one day coaching course for 8 volunteers, Level 1 coaching course for 2 volunteers and basketball equipment.

This is a project by an incorporated charity in Cheshire. The organisation will use the funding to train volunteers to offer support to isolated and vulnerable family members of people accused of or convicted of committing a crime. This will enable volunteers to learn the skills necessary to help those who need support, reduce rates of reoffending and discourage criminal activity by the offenders' family members whilst encouraging others to volunteer to help others in their position.
