65th Anniversary Publicity Newsletter 30 Jul 2009
This charity in Islington will create its 65th Anniversary newsletter to be distributed among 800 London primary and special needs schools, particularly those having no knowledge of its existence. Schools will be able to get involved in the society's activities to begin educating children about growing flowers, vegetables and herbs, and the environment.
This group aims to bring the community together by holding an annual week of activities. The grant is for sound system.

Educational Day at Edinburgh Zoo 23 Apr 2010
This group will organise a day trip to Edinburgh Zoo for 70 children providing them with a new educational experience. This grant will fund zoo entrance fees and a contribution towards youth worker sessional fees.

This informal group will use an award to hold a WW2 themed family day, which will include a fancy dress parade and a brass band, and a Veterans Over 60's Tea Party, including a display of veterans memorabilia.

This project will help mark the 100th gala day for the village as the group plans to bring the community together by holding various physical activities in the week leading up to the event.

This annual project supports the organisations Week for Young and Old. As part of the gala, a crowning ceremony will be held for the gala queen, and the group will buy a new speaker system for this part of the celebrations.
2006 summer camp healthy eating project 17 Jul 2006
This charity provides holidays for underprivileged children recommended by social services. The grant will fund a healthy eating project during the 2006 Summer Camp. This will teach the volunteers to use and develop the new menu, encourage the children to eat nutritiously and they can take this awareness into the home environment.

Children's seminars/workshops 17 Feb 2005
To provide a new element to the Federation of Children's Book Groups' Annual Conference to be held in April 2005. The St Albans branch are running the weekend conference and wish to introduce workshops and seminars for children run by authors, the seminars will be promoted in schools. The group exists to increase childrens' access to books and promote their interest and enjoyment of literature.
