Safety in the Trawl Fisheries and Merchant Shipping Industry: An Appraisal of the Archives 20 Jun 2018
The project aims to identify archival material held by Lloyd's Register Foundation's Heritage and Education Centre (HEC) and selected provincial record offices that will inform a major research investigation into the development of safety measures in the fisheries and merchant shipping industry since c.1850. This appraisal will be undertaken by Hull University's maritime history team.
SEATP: The Southeast Asia Training Programme 26 Jul 2018
In SE Asia there were over 124,000 occupational accidents in 2015. This number is increasing. SEATP is a new, international programme of accredited safety-related training that will target under-represented communities in five SE Asia countries and upskill at least 10,000 people over five years. This intervention will lead to fewer accidents and improved safety.
