Weekend D-Day celebration event 25 Jun 2004
The Gateshead branch of the Royal British Legion has been awarded a grant towards their weekend of celebrations in commemoration of the D-Day landings. This will involve a church service as well as entertainments and refreshments. The event is open to all residents in the Gateshead area.
Remembrance Concert 25 Jun 2004
The South Lancashire Holding Branch of the Royal British Legion have been granted an award to enable them to host their Northern Remembrance Concert. This will be held at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. There will be a range of guests and performances.

Parade to the War Memorial 28 Apr 2005
The Clacton-On-Sea Branch of The Royal British Legion would use the grant to assist with the costs of holding a parade to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This would involve numerous local groups besides the Legion itself, including: Sea Cadets, the Scouts, St John's Ambulance Brigade, Land Army and an array of ex-servicemen and women. This would be supported by a marching band and would provide the centrepiece for the localities commemoration programme.
Recording of Experiences and Memories 28 Apr 2005
The Southminster branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to record the wartime memories of veterans and local residents. A parade through the village involving veterans and historical vehicles will visit local schools enabling the children to see and talk with the members and the owners of the vehicles.
60th Anniversary Commemoration 28 Apr 2005
The Mordens Branch of the Royal British Legion will use a grant to hold a joint event with the 335th Fighter Group Association to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of VE Day. The programme of events will include a Service of Thanksgiving and wreath-laying ceremony to be concluded with a 'Hog Roast' and fireworks in the evening. This will be attended by a broad array of people- including veterans from Britain and the United States, alongside the other members of the local community.

The Buckhurst Hill Branch of The Royal British Legion will use a grant to fund two events aimed at commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the end of WW2. This will include a day of remembrance to be followed by a street party, alongside the rededication of the local war memorial.

The Hebburn Branch of the Royal British Legion has been awarded a grant that will allow them to hold a social evening where there will be wartime entertainment in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of WW2.

The Ladybarn and district branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a celebration of the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. The celebration will involve entertainment from local group who will play music from the period.

The Little Sutton Branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to a special commemoration event entitled 'Reflections of the Second World War'. This will include guest speakers, a 1940's themed 3 course meal, and an evening of entertainment.

The West Wickham branch of The Royal British Legion will use their grant to commemorate both VE and VJ Days by holding a concert, parade and Drum Head Service. The group will also be visiting schools to talk to school children about WW2.

The East Riding of Yokshire branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to stage a 'Tattoo' event that will commemorate the 60th anniversary of VJ Day. The event will include a range of activities ranging from bands, displays including the Battle of Britain Flight, the culmination of the event will be a massed parade. The event will include both veterans and youth organisations.

The Kings Lynn branch of the Royal British Legion will use an award to hold a V.E. Day and V.J. Day commemoration event to mark the 60th anniversary of these significant events. This will include a Veterans parade, and Memorial service which will include Naval, Army and Air Cadets.

The South West Hampton Branch of the Royal British Legion have been awarded a grant to allow them to carry out a 60th anniversary celebration meal and film afternoon for their members.

The Horbury, Sitlington and Ossett branch of the Royal British Legion will use its grant to commemorate the 60th anniversary of WW2 by hosting a number of events including, a 1940's Tea Dance, a 'Party in the Park' and an afternoon tea at a local School. The events will be open to the local community.
The Bedfordshire County Branch of the Royal British Legion will use their award to hold a celebration to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. A church service and parade will involve veteran and ex-service groups as well as cadet organisations. An exhibition of wartime life, educational material, and museum artefacts will also be on display.
