A range of production and performance opportunities will be provided for local people of all ages through the staging of two live showcase events to coincide with 2004 Afrikan History month and 2005 Bath Literature Festival.

A project to commemorate the events leading up to the end of WW2 with the provision of 2 reunion events for the benefit of memebers of this group and the wider community of Bristol.

The award will help this group to run workshops and story telling sessions for groups of children in Southmead, Easton and Bedminster, which will help to raise awareness of and educate about life in South Africa for Black people. It will be a part of Black History Month in October.

A Second World War Veteran from Bristol has been awarded a grant towards travel costs for a commemorative visit to Australia in August next year. Funding has also been provided for a spouse to travel with the Veteran.

Based in St Paul's Bristol, the group's tenants will be able to take part in a series of six sports taster sessions, and for many it will be their first experience of sports. There are also longer term health benefits.

This group provides a free, confidential counselling service to anyone who has been sexually abused or raped. The award will be used to set up a therapeutic support group for men.

This recently formed group will encourage more people to join in cycling,planning routes,map reading and taking part in rides. The project emphasises inclusivity and will target those who may not have access to bikes and cycling otherwise
Hareclive Primary School - Climbing facility 13 Dec 2004
Bristol City Council will establish a new climbing centre at Hareclive Primary School, Bristol which would give 230 pupils from the school, 950 from neighbouring schools and 100 people from the local community the opportunity to experience outdoor activities such as climbing and abseiling .
Disability Audit 04 Nov 2004
This group promotes the appreciation of art through exhibitions and lectures. They will use their award to obtain a disability audit, to ensure that they are providing appropriate facilities and resources for visitors with physical and/or mental impairments.
This two-year grant will be used to run a pilot programme of short breaks in the homes of trained carers for disabled children from black and minority ethnic communities. The grant will pay for two project workers, information material, training and travel as well as meet project running costs.
