This Pre-School Learning Alliance group seeks to redevelop its outdoor play area, which is currently on a steep slope and unusable for much of the year. They will level the garden, cover part of it in paving stones and upgrade the fencing. Improving the outdoor play area will enable youngsters to take part in more outdoor activities, which are an important part of their development.

The project will deliver a six week educational project for participants to learn about basic gardening. These workshops will be open to disadvantaged members of the local community including older people, those with disabilities and ethnic minorities, as well as the wider community.

The group will use the funding to install a seating area in a community garden that is used by older people that do not have access to their own garden. This will improve a community meeting place, allowing more local residents to benefit from using it.
