The group will use the funding to train volunteers in organising events. The training will culminate in the Big Parade where volunteers will take to the streets as part of National Volunteers Week.
Grant to Keighley Volunteer Centre 28 Feb 2014
This charity provides a number of supported volunteering projects and support for older people. They will use the grant to employ an additional member of staff for their supported volunteering fro people with learning disabilities.
This is a project by a charity in Wiltshire. The group will use the funding to purchase shrub and tree clearing equipment and provide training to volunteers. This will enable the group to provide an increased level of support by training new volunteers who will work with nature reserves and wildlife organisations to maintain areas of land.
Grant to Shepway Volunteer Centre 29 Jan 2014
The charity works to support volunteers across Shepway. The funding will support a project to help ex-substance abusers into meaningful volunteering giving them skills for employability.
This is a project by an incorporated charity in Herne Bay, Kent. The organisation will use funding to pilot the role of a sessional volunteer co-ordinator to manage and arrange placements for new volunteers. This will ensure that volunteers are given adequate training and support to help gain new skills and gain experience which will help them to find paid employment.
