Domino Effect Project 25 Sep 2015

The funding will be used to develop services supporting people who have experienced addiction issues, homelessness or have been to prison. The project aims to support people to sustain a tenancy, reintegrate into the community and gain work. Training is provided by peers supported by local universities and businesses and takes place in progressive stages. Each stage helps participants build their skills and confidence until they can put these into action at a work placement or a specific project.

Good Food Matters for Older People 17 Jan 2017

An expansion of the Soil Association’s Food for Life programme, this project uses good food to reduce isolation and improve the nutrition and wellbeing of older people. Food for Life Better Care will work directly with older people to develop and tailor programmes to reflect the different needs in three areas across the UK; Edinburgh, Calderdale and Kirklees and Leicester City and Leicestershire. Older people in care settings, hospitals and their own homes will be supported to eat and enjoy food together.

This new project from Unseen will create a specialist 24-hour staffed accommodation for male victims of human trafficking (MVT) with high level needs. This centre will enable the beneficiaries to come to terms with their traumatic experiences which can include physical violence and psychological manipulation. The project will aim to assist with their recovery and regaining control of their lives so they can eventually live independently and contribute to society.
