The project will allow ACTA Community Centre to set up a regular drama project for young people with learning difficulties in the South Gloucestershire area. There will be activities for two age groups: one for under 15's and one for 16-25 years. The groups will meet weekly to take part in drama and theatre workshops, including music, dance and improvisation. The group members will devise and perform their own original shows, which will be presented to the wider community.

This project aims to improve the lives of vulnerable people in areas of high deprivation in South Bristol through providing a range of activities at a community centre that is being extended. The funding will be used to increase staff hours to maximise use of the facilities. Activities will target people of all age groups and will include a theatre group, social sessions for people with depression and low self-esteem and an intergenerational project involving local schools and a community choir.

This is the development of a community arts project in Bristol aimed at reducing isolation of marginalised groups while improving people's physical health and emotional well-being, and building community cohesion.The project will have an intergenerational and intercultural emphasis with beneficiaries involved in selecting activities, such as arts and crafts, story-telling, creative-writing, singing, dance, and drama work-shops, and developing events such as carnivals and festivals.

Their project is to work with a group of Malcolm X Elders from St Paul's to devise a play based on their experiences.

This three year project will create innovative play opportunities for children in Lawrence Weston and the wider Kings Weston ward of North Bristol. The project will be delivered by ACTA, an educational arts charity specialising in individual and community development through participatory arts. The project involves children under 16 exploring their imaginations through a range of interactive activities, including Visual Arts, Drama and Music Making.

This project aims to raise the educational and employment aspirations for young people by enabling them to participate in, manage and deliver arts activities. It will use workshops to encourage young people to take part in activities to promote their creative thinking and develop their presentation skills. They will then develop these activities into material that they can perform to a wider group. Visits will complement activities and help young people understand the types of creative jobs in their area.
Beating Hart Youth Theatre 05 Aug 2004
Weekly drama activities for 30 young people (14-25) from the Hartcliffe & Withywood areas of South Bristol will be run exploring the issues of transition to adulthood and peer pressure.

This project will set up a programme of intercultural creative learning activities for young people and their families in disadvantaged areas of South Bristol and the Kingsweston area. Activities will include music, dance, visual arts and story telling from different cultures. Taking part in activities will encourage joint learning for young people and families in communication skills, self-confidence, literacy, numeracy, language development, creativity and physical coordination.
